Head Coach Summer 2018: Ian Williams

Letter from the president of Pisces, Rory Boyle:

The Prince George Pisces Swim Club is very pleased to announce that Ian Williams has accepted the position of Head Coach.

Ian started his swimming career with the PG Pisces when he was five years old and swam with the club for twelve years, three of those years he also worked as a coach.

After a brief hiatus from swimming, he moved to Victoria and swam for the University of Victoria Vikes. Ian went on to break both school and provincial records with the varsity club, and had a best finish of fourth place at Nationals.

Since that time, he has coached with Pacific Coast Swimming, one of the top winter clubs in Canada, for the past four years. He was also head coach for the Sidney Piranhas Summer Club, which saw a 7th place finish at provincials last year, despite being a smaller club. Ian was a finalist for coach of the year, having multiple swimmers break provincial records.

Ian believes any swimmer can surpass their goals if they are mentally prepared and put in the work. He is looking to unlock the potential within our swimmers and bring a new understanding of what speed and efficiency looks and feels like in practice and in competition. His desire is to take the Pisces to the top of Zone 8 and to have our Region recognized as a force at the Provincial level.

Please join me in welcoming Ian Williams as our new Head Coach.
